Accessibility Statement
RM Stone Design Inc. wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, and will provide anything on it in another format on request.
Statement date: 30 September 2026.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That includes WCAG 2.0 Level AA, the standard referenced by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). Accessibility is treated as part of building the site rather than as a later correction.
How we serve people with disabilities by phone, in writing and at site visits is set out in our accessible customer service policy.
Conformance status
Based on our own testing, we believe this website meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and we know of no part of it that falls short. It has not been independently audited, so we do not describe it as certified or fully conformant. If you find a barrier, we treat it as a defect and fix it.
What this site does
- Keyboard operable. Every link, button, menu and form field can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, and the focus indicator is visible against every background on the site.
- A skip link. The first focusable element on every page jumps past the navigation straight to the main content.
- Real headings. One
h1per page and a heading structure that follows the content, so a screen reader can be used to navigate rather than to read everything in order. - Described images. Photographs carry alternative text describing what is actually in them; decorative images are marked so assistive technology skips them.
- Landmarks and labels. Header, navigation, main and footer are marked as landmarks; the menu, breadcrumb trail and quick-action bar carry accessible names; every form field has a visible, associated label.
- Contrast. Text and interface colours are chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios, including on the dark sections and over the photographic hero areas.
- Reduced motion respected. When your device asks for reduced motion, video does not play by itself and transitions and smooth scrolling are switched off.
- Video you can stop. Every video on the site, including the clip behind the home page heading on phones, has a visible pause and play button you can reach with a keyboard. All video on the site is silent and adds nothing that the surrounding text does not already say.
- Text that scales. Layouts are fluid and text can be enlarged in the browser without content being cut off or overlapping.
- No time limits. Nothing on the site expires or times out while you are reading or filling in the form.
- No third-party embeds. Every asset is served from this domain, so no external widget can introduce a barrier we cannot fix.
Known limitations
- Self-assessed. This statement reflects our own testing. The site has not been assessed by an independent accessibility auditor.
- Photographs of stonework. A photograph of finished stonework is genuinely difficult to convey in a sentence. If a project image matters to you and its description is not enough, call us and we will describe the work properly.
- Trade terms. Some technical terms — soldier course, sub-grade, edge restraint, efflorescence — are unavoidable in this trade. We define them in context wherever we use them, and we welcome being told where we have not.
Technical details
The site is built with standard HTML and CSS, with a small amount of JavaScript for the menu and video controls. With JavaScript turned off, page content stays readable and the contact form still works; the collapsed menu on smaller screens needs JavaScript, but the footer links reach every section without it. The site is designed to work with current versions of the major browsers and with the screen readers and magnifiers built into common operating systems.
Information in another format
If anything on this site is difficult for you to access, we will provide it another way — read to you over the phone, sent as plain text, or discussed in person at a site visit. There is no charge and no form to fill in. Just call.
Reporting a barrier
Tell us what happened, which page you were on, and what you were using — browser, screen reader, or any assistive technology involved. That detail lets us reproduce the problem rather than guess at it.
(416) 841-4164 — or use the contact form, whichever suits you better.
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback promptly and to fix what we can fix quickly. If something will take longer, we will tell you that rather than leave you waiting.
